Morning visitor (Sylvia atricapilla)

It was great to find a Blackcap back in the garden this morning. Marmot spotted it on a pyracantha as she checked on the feeders and then it moved to the viburnum where it remained another 20 minutes before disappearing from view. Most winters we get one or two but usually it's not until January we see them in the garden.

Well done mate, my first male Blackcap also arrived yesterday for the first time this winter. The female arrived three days ago, I managed to get a picture of her but so far have failed with the male. Blackcaps have been visiting my garden for the past four years and they arrive at this time and leave in April. Great clear picture of a very interesting bird. Thanks for posting.

Great image Ian and very well spotted Margaret.....I don't think that I have ever seen one so thank you so much for sharing!
