Mum and bairn
On the way up to my Up the Hill Patch, I usually pull in off the road and have a scan around, as it's really close to the patch, with this field actually joining onto it.

Ken suddenly spotted a Roe Deer half way to the forest, so I had a look through my bins and could see not only two females, but in some long rough grass were a couple of young ones too.

I think the adults may have come down to collect them for they started to move off. We didn't see them there again.

Very well spotted and captured, Delia! What a charming image. We have lots of Roe Deer here and my wife complains about them coming into the garden and eating the flowers. We've had does with fawns but we've not seen one this young.
