My first bird close-up

My first bird close-up (Hirundo daurica)

Another from my Southern holidays.

This is something Ive never done before, to crop a bird pic as a close-up. But this cutie was perched in the shade of a veranda on a window grille, rusty and with signs of plenty of swallows perched through the years (you know what I mean, ;)), so the setting looked awful and spoiled the shot. Then I thought on cropping out everything ugly and leave it as a head-and-shoulders portrait I hope it works like this!

By the way, its another newbie in my gallery! o:)
Habitat
Window grille (but I doubt that can be considered a habitat, ;))

Tablas de Daimiel National Park, Ciudad Real Province, C Spain

12 August 2008

It makes a superb portrait Marian, excellent work! Swallows are such difficult birds to photograph, so this is just marvellous! :t:

It completely works, Marian. Great photo! The beautiful soft background colours go along so well with this lovely bird. Thanks so much, by the way, for all of the nice comments on my photos.

An excellent close up picture, marian!:t::clap: Si estaba volando sobre los Alpes pero no con un pajaro sino viajando en el avion de Granada a Helsinki cuando saque la foto.
