my first capture of this beauty. (cinclus cinclus)

i met a lady birder today that i have met before so we went a walk and got to a spot where i mentioned i look for dippers as i have not one capture of a dipper.she scanned the area and said it looks good for dippers too.then said margaret theres a dipper i thought she was pulling my leg but sure enough under some scrub growth on the embankment across the river a dipper and luckily for me it flew out onto this rock for a short time then off.this is one little bird i have tried to capture for along time so i hope my jinx is broken now and thanks viv.

YAY!!! Congratulations! They're wonderful birds to watch |=)|
As for breaking the jinx, one of the other birders on the Romania tour said that about my Kingfisher frustrations. I'd been looking for one in all the right places for years. Then we were seeing them every which way one day in the delta, but I couldn't get a shot. Finally I got a couple of very blurry shots, Then Stuart said that's the way it goes. Once you get a shot at all, a better one will come along. And sure enough, just minutes later one landed in a tree right in front of the boat while we were "parked" at the mouth of a lake and I got a dozen or so really nice shots :D So just go back to your Dipper spot. Now you've got your first shot, and a pretty good one at that, even better ones are sure to come |=)|
