My first Woodie pic! (Dendrocopos major)

Another rescued from the "darkness" (in this case taken in a very dim day).

Believe it or not, I had never uploaded a Woodpecker pic!!! :eek!: Here they are very wary and to have one close is very difficult. So I was amazed to see this one arrived to this tree, very close to me, just minding his own business so I minded mine too (snapping away)!!! o:D

Cracker of an image Marian, should be on a mag cover, pleased you got this one, very well done.

Really like this shot. Great detail. I'm told that there is a woodie visiting our caravan site and I am keeping my eyes open. Steve.

Our garden teems with these throughout the year to the point we hardly notice them. So you might think I'd have a decent shot or two. I've never taken anything even a tenth as good as yours - honestly one of the best I've ever seen and in such a great setting. You have balanced the composition so well and done him full justice. Many congratulations!

David.

I love Woodpecker shots and this is no exception. I wish we had these in OZ. And thanks for your comment on the Purple Moorhen. Boyd
