My Hangout

A seven shot vertical panorama of the tidal side of the causeway leading into the park. All the dead cord grass washed up after the last hurricane and king tide. Looks like it will be around forever! The rice trunk on the right is how they controlled the flow of water into the old rice fields that dominated the area until the late 1860's. There were 150 slave plantations along the Carolina coast between Georgetown and Murrells Inlet. At Huntington Beach State Park, SC
