My head is black and it should be green so people tell me (Anas platyrhynchos)

He is another Mallard hybrid. I have gotten so I look at all the ducks at the lake to see if I see any new ones.

A brilliant eye-level close-up of this curly-tailed beauty with a black head. A color combination that I have never seen with a Mallard hybrid. TFS!!!!!

You really are finding some weird and wonderful plumages among these Mallards on that pond, aren't you.
