I would say so. I hope it heals on its own. Fabulous picture of how life goes on without our medical system. Superb Donny!!!!!

May be they will evolve and develop intelligence to find their own natural cures in due course? Fabulous shot, Donny!! tfs.
 
It looks like me after a night on the lash Donny, LOL...Lovely capture buddy, is that rain I'm seeing? Glad we visited when we did.
 
A fine picture and interesting capture, Don ... not an expert, but it looks like some sort of bacterial infection (chlamydiosis or the like)... if you find that more birds are affected, you could think of sanitizing your feeders ...

Oh!! It does look a bit sore, doesn't it. He seems to be doing OK at the moment hopefully.
