Neotropic Cormorant (Phalacrocorax brasilianus mexicanus) There are four subspecies with two being recognized. Only subspecies mexicanus is mapped for Texas. Sexes similar. Photographed at a small pond in Live Oak Park in south Ingleside, San Patricio County, Texas, USA. Pond with adjacent open prairie and sand hill oak motts at 4.9 m (16 ft) elevation.
