Nest Building

Nest Building (Euodice malabarica)

I was taking a walk in the country side a few km outside the city when I observed some birds flying in and out of an acacia bush with nest material frequently. I went closer and found a pair of Indian Silver Bills building nest in a polythene bag placed neatly in the branches. I was really fascinated by their ingenuity of using a polythene bag for a nest & the frenetic pace of their toil. The nest was a work in progress with no eggs or chicks inside.

Out of station for the weekend. Catch up with you all on Monday.

Fabulous spot and capture of this mega cutie SK. It looks like this little one is quite adept at nest building too. TFS!!!!

Great behaviour capture, SK. Coincidently, one of the Squirrels used plastic bags to make a drey/nest in my shed roof... I guess nothing is wasted by Nature ;)

Well spotted SK...I guess they make the most of anything laying around to use as nesting material.

Wow! Who'd think that human garbage could be used so brilliantly for wildlife. A great find and capture S K. Have a good weekend guy.
