'New for me!'
Just had to share this! I had been reading up on sightings and decided to go and have a look at Wilson's Reserve myself as I haven't been to Ivanhoe for about 30yrs (Used to work in that area when I first started teaching students to drive ....another lifetime ago) Pete and I wandered around our old haunts before going down to the carpark! I met up with a lady (Ros) walking her dog and as soon as she saw the camera asked if I had seen the Tawny Frogmouths near the oval...'No' I said and she promptly gave me a guided tour and took me to the tree, did get a couple of shots, too windy for anything decent! Met another person called 'Peter' and he asked if I knew where to look for the Azure Kingfisher, Bassian Thrush, Nankeen Heron and Powerful Owl of which the answer was 'No' I do believe that he has met you 'Broc'! Anyway he had to rush off and I was left listening to the beautiful call of the 'Bellbird' one that I have heard many times but never seen! I was wandering back to the car park to see if Pete was OK and stopped when I heard the 'Bells' getting louder and closer! There were two hopping around on the trees close to the path but the sun wasn't too favorable but I did manage to get a few quick shots, good enough for ID and to share one with you all! When I got back there was a Kookaburra sitting in a tree over the top of the car and Pete having a snooze, got him out to get a few photos and he was happy! Do hope you like this one!

Hi, Nora! :hi: Great to see another of your acclaimed newbies!!! ;) It is a lovely capture of the bell-mime foraging among the eucaliptus leaves!!! :bounce: Well done again!!! :t: :t: :t:

Great shot. I know just what these birds are like. Came acroos a huge colony in Northern NSW when I was there a couple of years ago. The calling is something to be heard. Only beaten IMO by Chowchilla.

Super shot, Nora, it's always nice to get a new bird.

Thanks for all the comments! Went back today for another go at getting a better photo!
Will upload later if anything worthwhile!
