New Guinea Clipper (Parthenos aspila)

The genus Parthenos is comprised of 3 species, P. sylvia, P. tigrina and P. aspila. This is P. aspila which is localized and endemic to Papua New Guinea. While P. tigrina is also restricted to New Guinea, P. sylvia in comparison has an extremely wide distribution from India and Southeast Asia through Papua New Guinea and Irian Jaya.
