New lifer - Hazel grouse
After literally combing through several kilometers of the forest, I stopped to check a call of a great tit. After few minutes I realized that it was flying around something that looked like a wasp's nest. I zoomed in with the camera and found this well camouflaged Hazel grouse sitting still on the tree.

Wonderful.... very well done on your Lifer Majsujan.

A great picture that too with some lovely detail.

I think this one will be added to The Opus article before too long. Many thanks for sharing it with us my friend.

I have another shot of it's body when it was flying away. Since it's the first time I saw this one, I had to check with Merlin and the app said it's a hazel grouse. I'm guessing they based that on the tail bands.
Can it be a female black grouse, by any chance? I'm just confirming my species ID.
Could you let us see the flight picture please Majsujan. We don't seem to have an image of one flying in the Gallery so far.

We can then decide if it's suitable to place on The Opus article too.

Thanks lad.

It's actually the other one I posted, it was about to fly. Couldn't get more picture of it flying because of the dense forest.

Definitely yes! I was in a shock when I saw it, to be honest. I will go back on a day with better weather and better preparation.
