New Year Robin (Erithacus rubecula)

A pretty miserable day again with heavy cloud cover. In the afternoon we had a walk out for a bit of fresh air and to kick start the new year birding. This is one of two Robins that were waiting for a free feed by the main pond.
Happy New Year everyone :t:

Cowpen Bewley Woodland Park, Billingham, Cleveland
Date taken
1st January 2009
Scientific name
Erithacus rubecula

Canon 40D+Canon 400mm f5,6
Stunning Robin, Ian, they are so tame at the moment. I went to put some bird food on the bird table and one hopped on whilst I was putting it down. Anyway A very Happy New Year to you both - Kim

A lovely Robin shot Ian! and a Happy New Year to you and Margaret!

We are finally getting some sunshine here but it's brutally cold at the moment. It was only 4F when I got up this morning (-15 C) with a pretty strong wind blowing as well. Brrrrrr....

We've had miserable weather here too Ian, no light at all, so I haven't been out for a couple of days. Happy new year to you, Marmot, and your family, have a great 2009.
