New Zealand Brown Teal (Anas chlorotis)

This Brown Teal (Maori Name "Pateke") was one of 30 released at the Cape Kidnappers Preseve, Hawke's Bat, NZ after an absence of over 100 years. The release was only made possible after the erection of a pest proof fence and extensive control of predators. All birds were fitted with miniature radios, so they could be tracked in future. Here is hoping they will make it.
