Nile Valley sunbird

Nile Valley sunbird (Hedydipna metallica)

this male is half way into getting back its breeding colors.

we had a mini-cyclone today 116 Km/hour, the second in 4 month, and they say no climate change, gurrrr, usually cyclones hit Jeddah every 7-11 years. We had early warnings and not much damage, just they had to close the airport for 5 hours.

this and about 6 other sunbirds came after the storm, and when rain stopped to work as brilliant fly and mosquito catchers.

hope you like it.

I am glad there wasn't much damage. It has to be disturbing to have two in four months when the norm is one in 7-11 years. A great close-up of this lovely sunbird in transition. You can see the magnificence to come. TFS Doux!
