Thanks for your suggestion about trying higher ISO. I normally use higher ISO in low light conditions or low lit subjects, otherwise I am a bit apprehensive about raising the ISO as it may produce excessive exposure, noise or pixellation. This being a tropical region we generally have good lighting. In birding as you know, situation can change pretty fast as a well lit bird may move into shade quickly. So, it is a kind of gamble. Still, I could try out your suggestion.
