Northern Cardinal

Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis)

I was able to get out to the hide for a little while yesterday after three days of cleaning up debris from the storm. We've had lots of birds at the feeders including many visits from a pair of cardinals and lots of Woodpeckers.

Things here are still upside down as we are still without electricity four days after the storm. My Mom has been staying with us but they've restored power to 200,000 homes and now there are only 138,000 left. I'm really hoping things go back to normal soon. I thought this fellow was a cheerful visitor to the landscape. Hope you enjoy him too!

:eek!: Drop-dead gorgeous Cardinal portrait, Deanne, I don't think it can show more naturally detailed than this!!! o:) :loveme: I join the others in the best wishes for you all returning to normality as soon as possible!!!

Thanks soooooo.... much my friends! I really appreciate your kind comments and good wishes. The good news is that my sister and brother got their power restored yesterday evening and my Mom had hers back this morning so she was really happy to be able to go home this morning. We, on the other hand are still waiting but I'm not going to complain as none of them has a generator and we are fine. I spent the morning picking up another huge load of debris out of the back garden. Another couple days work should take care of the worst of it.

Glad you're ok, Deanne, and that everthing is going back to normal. Nice shot of the cardinal too!!! Well done
