NORTHERN CARDINAL

NORTHERN CARDINAL (Cardinalis cardinalis)

A momentary visit from a rarity. Only got a few shots before he was gone again. While Northern Cardinals very are common in some areas, where I live is on the very fringe of their range. I am lucky to see these beauties maybe once or twice a year if I'm lucky. Years can go by where I see none. You can understand then how this young male got my pulse racing yesterday morning!

A gorgeous bird both in colour and detail Bill. Not surprised that you were excited by this chap. The setting sets it off perfectly.

Mmmmm.... indeed I can Bill!!! Ij've experienced much the same here too, with very occasional visitors that I don't seen again for years. Can be frustrating, but exciting too LOL.

You've got a cracking picture of this youngster - very well done my friend.
