Northern Flicker (male) (Colaptes auratus)

Animate and in-animate. There comes a point when the two are in juxtaposition, congruent, in harmony: and in some instances a sublime epiphany. A pice of wood that had once been a magnifican oak tree, now long since a victim of time, weather and the elements has become a work of art. A Northern Flicker a monumental compelation of form and color that just so happens to have the freedom of flight, is yet another masterpice. The two, on one brilliant day, have found each other and the final composition is consumated in it's finest. In-animate and animate are yet placed on display, but what if no one had seen it? Ah the wonder of digitial capture.
