Northern Flicker Males (Colaptes auratus)

Speaking of Northern Flickers, I looked out my window again just a few minutes ago to find two males at the top of a power pole in my front yard. They are doing a peculiar territorial dance. Much head bobbing, weaving back and forth, and tail fanning. Very fun to watch. Had to take this through a window and through a gap in a nearby tree.

A great capture of these two, Bill, and that must have been interesting to watch.

At the looks of this fine photo, I can image it was a real treat to watch these two males trying to show dominance. Fabulous job Bill! TFS!
