Northern Jacana (juvenile)
Northern Jacana juvenile (Jacana spinosa spinosa) Three subspecies are recognized with only the nominate being found in Costa Rica. Photographed along the banks of Ri Nosara northwest of Nosara, Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica. Riparian with disturbed dry tropical forest at ca. 6 m (20 ft) elevation. Sexes similar.
