Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos)

I took this photo a few days ago. Nothing new from yesterday as there was no light at all and I wound up taking several hundred shots at ISO1000 and binning the lot. Anyway, this bird came along and finished eating all the berries off the Dogwood tree (the ones the Grey Squirrels left). You can see the little orange stub by his tail. That was the last clump of berries prior to this one's breakfast. The nubs in the foreground are next spring's buds.

Another geat expressive portrait,Deanne :t::t::t: Love the sweet brown tones in the whole image too!!

Another quality shot...I admire your consistency for quality images....I am green with envy.

Thanks so much everyone! I can't begin to tell you all how much I appreciate your feedback.

Great details Deanne :) I'm hoping to find one of those up here, as they occasionally show up this time of year...
Do you handhold that big lens or is it tripod mounted?

Thanks again all! Much appreciated!

Nikovich, I've only worked with the 500 on a tripod so far. I've only had it a few weeks so I'm still getting a feel for what it will do. I shudder to think of trying to hand hold that monster. LOL
