Northern Rough-wing Swallow
Took this today at the lake. There were dozens of these around feeding on insects. Two pair had taken an interest in a pickup truck and boat trailer and were trying to build a nest in the underside of the truck. I wonder what the guy who owned the truck thought when he came to drive it home. Their interest in the truck was the only reason I was able to get this shot. They were perching on the truck and trailer at times.

So very cute! A few days ago, I saw a pair of these for the first time in my life when they flew in and decided to land on my building's utility wire. Before that time, I had never realized how charming they are. Springtime is wonderful because, when the birds decide to build their nests, we can often more readily see them near their nesting sites. It's good that the truck owner didn't stay parked there for days on end! Excellent, Robert, tfs!

What a great picture you got of him Robert. Isn't it nice when swallows come and pose for a few minutes LOL.
