Northern wheatear (Oenanthe oenanthe)

I went birding yesterday .This was the last opportunity to take photos as we are now back in lockdown and can't stir away from our homes further than a kilometre. So I was lucky to find this wheatear near the beach at Suscinio.I just wanted a good walk by the sea so I didn't bother with a big lens and just carried my bridge camera.

A great close up of this Wheatear Joelle and beautifully captured girl!

Beautiful Wheaty capture JM...Stay safe in lockdown...I'm shielding, so we're on week 34 of being in now.

What a lovely portrait, Joelle. Sorry that you are in lockdown again; I wouldn't be surprised if we follow fairly shortly.

superb photo, Joelle, excellent pose, colours and composition, a real beauty, many tfs!!
Bon courage during the lockdown, no more birding here neither, fortunately we were able two weeks ago to spend a couple of days in Normandy, to take in some fresh sea air. Keep safe, JJ

Lovely! So sad about the lockdown. Getting out in sunshine and fresh air is actually helpful against this disease. Here in Norway we are privileged to have so much green space so close to home. Even when bars and restaurants and gyms etc. have been closed, we've been able to go out on hikes.

Yes, it's sad about lockdown. My mobility has been so poor in recent years that it hasn't made a lot of difference. But I had time to grow used to it; it is much more difficult for people who have found their world changed so suddenly.

Meanwhile this is a charming Northern Wheatear capture. It's amazing how much bridge cameras can do these days - in the hands of a skilled photographer, of course!
