Not a gull

Not a gull (Gelochelidon nilotica macrotarsa)

... but a Gull-billed Tern, which hadn't actually been on my horizons as a species I might see!!!

I didn't actually realise I'd got a picture of him until I studied my images later.

Sooo... another Lifer for me that day. Coming thick and fast LOL.

Some authorities have split this one and called it Australian Gull-billed Tern ([I]Gelochelidon macrotarsa[/I])

Delia, your bird is in fact an Australian (Gull-billed) Tern Gelochelidon macrotarsa which is a recent split from Gull-billed Tern G. nilotica.
