Not a gull
... but a Gull-billed Tern, which hadn't actually been on my horizons as a species I might see!!!

I didn't actually realise I'd got a picture of him until I studied my images later.

Sooo... another Lifer for me that day. Coming thick and fast LOL.

Some authorities have split this one and called it Australian Gull-billed Tern (Gelochelidon macrotarsa)
Habitat
Coastal beach
Location
Buckley's Hole Beach, Bribie Island, Queensland
Date taken
4 October 2019
Scientific name
Gelochelidon nilotica macrotarsa
Equipment used
Fuji Finepix HS50
Shutter speed, aperture & ISO
Sports Mode Continuous
Delia, your bird is in fact an Australian (Gull-billed) Tern Gelochelidon macrotarsa which is a recent split from Gull-billed Tern G. nilotica.
