One of those birds that depending upon the light changes every time you take a shot and one of my favourite NZ birds, never get tied of trying to get a good image of one of these!

Does that mean you don't think you've got a good image yet??? If so, then I wonder what vision of this bird you're aiming for ... Could be you have some fleeting memory of a way the bird looked once that you haven't been able to recapture, but for me who's never seen one, all your posts of them have been superb! In this one, I'm captivated by the expression. I know those are illusions and projections of human emotions, but they're hard to shake. Here he looks quite self-satisfied (as opposed to the "expression" in your narrative ;) )
