I've seen stilts doing this. Also chickens, geese, all manner of passerines. Quite comical to watch in the leggier species such as stilts and storks. :-O Technically, though, I think he's resting on the equivalent of ankles. The "knees" (unless I've got this wrong) are the next joint up, close to the body and the "hips" are further back and generally hidden under a lot of plumage and muscle.
