One for Carann (Anas platyrhynchos)

Sorry folks. I did get a bit of browsing done here at the airport, but the WiFi here is frustratingly slow. And now it's almost boarding time for my next flight. Also, I'm quite sunburned after spending some of my layover hours out in the wildlife preserve, so some of my browsing time was instead spent shopping for aloe vera gel at the duty free shop. I also picked up sun factor for tomorrow. Not that I'll be out all that much. Just a short walk across downtown rhus to the campus. The rest of the day will be indoors as one of the examiners for a PhD final. Hopefully, WiFi at the hotel tomorrow evening will be faster. Meanwhile, here are three from a day I went tour-orienteering a few months back. Now I can delete that day (it's backed up at home). I'm trying to clear out space on the computer for my Romania trip, which starts a week from tomorrow.

That iridescence on his head is lovely isn't it. You must have had some very nice light that day.

I do hope Carole is OK, she was having 'puter problems, but thought that was sorted.

Three great shots Doc. My goodness you sure keep busy but always find time for the birds. Good for you!

Thanks Doc, a beautiful, detailed close-up of this handsome Mallard. Thanks for sharing.
