Optical illusion (Spinus spinus)

Not a very funny one, but I've been saving it for a Saturday Fun round on account of the optical illusion. It looks as if we can see this Siskin's bill and breast through the twig, but that's got to be just an illusion thanks to some sort of pattern on the twig itself, or ...?
