Great shot, this bird seems to be a Falco rufigularis a.k.a. bat falcon or "caure" (http://www.avesderapinabrasil.com/falco_rufigularis.htm) .

Congratulations!!! A brilliant capture and picture. When I saw this before opening it up I wondered if you had taken this in Tikal. One of the only sure places to see them. They are somewhat similar to Bat Falcons but that upper orange band is a dead give away. Good for you!!!! Thanks for sharing.
