Orange-fronted Plushcrown (Metopothrix aurantiaca)

This aberrant Furnariid (Ovenbird family) is the only member of the genus Metopothrix. Its plumage is so unlike other Furnariids that its classification was originally questioned. Other than its tail, it superficially resembles Wilson's Warbler of North America. Endemic to the Western Amazon, this species's range has recently expanded substantially to the east. Its adaptation to degraded forest appears to benefit this species.

Oh... BTW, there's no need to mention a new addition to The Opus in that thread you know. It's really for people who haven't uploaded the image to the Gallery; or maybe they have and want to make sure it isn't missed.
