Osprey (Pandion haliaetus cristatus)

The Osprey is a unique fish-eating raptor placed in its own family, the Pandionidae. IOC considers this well marked race to be a separate species, "Eastern Osprey" P. cristatus. It differs from other Osprey subspecies in being smaller, whiter-headed and having a dark breast band as seen here. Note staggered wing molt (staffelmauser) with older p8 and p9 contrasting with new p10 indicating this is an adult
