When we returned to the floatel after the sandy island, it had been moved again. Now we were anchored up in a small side channel, alongside acres of reeds and woods that we could scan across from the top deck or peer into from the lower decks. Alongside in the water were duckweed, water chestnut, and various shapes of freshwater snails. We were really hoping for some birdlife in the reeds - bearded tits, for instance, would have been most welcome - but no such luck. In the early morning hours we did see quite a few raptors, though. Mostly Marsh harriers and also a couple of White-tailed Eagles
