Pacific Gold (Pluvialis fulva)

Another regular migrant there is Pacific Golden Plover. We sometimes see them around San Francisco Bay as well, though their grey cousins are far more common there. And around the Bay Area I've only seen them in their black-bellied, breeding phase. I actually think they're most beautiful in non-breeding plumage (but I'm sure their mates would disagree ;) )

This is the most colorful I have seen of this species and a great capture.
