In Antarctic colonies, this species breeds in rocky crevices. Bird of passage in the Azores (July to November), rarely close to land. Sometimes observed in submarine banks with monteiros storm petrel | Oceanodroma monteiroi | . Species, it flies close to the surface and “walks” on the waves with its legs when looking for food.

Thank you for this photograph and great narration, as with the other Storm Petrels it seems to locate food in the absolute most difficult of circumstances, I enjoy this greatly Rolando!
