In Antarctic colonies, this species breeds in rocky crevices. Bird of passage in the Azores (July to November), rarely close to land. Sometimes observed in submarine banks with monteiros storm petrel | Oceanodroma monteiroi | . Species, it flies close to the surface and “walks” on the waves with its legs when looking for food.
