Pair of Secretary Birds, Sagittarius serpentarius
The Secretarybird or Secretary Bird (Sagittarius serpentarius) is a large , mostly terrestrial bird of prey It is instantly recognizable having an eagle like body on crane like legs which increases the birds height to around 1.3 m or 4 ft tall. Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. They are monogamous and mate for life.
Note the Black-winged Stilt, Himantopus himantopus, in the left foreground.
