Pale head Gator
This American Alligator had been lying still for so long that the parts above water were dried out to a pale grey color, while the rest still was dark. I have an image of the full animal too if you are interested.

An excellent image. You could have gotten a bucket of water, walked out to him, and poured it on his head to rehydrate him. We could have likely found a spot for that video! Looks like you had a busy trip to the SC Lowcountry.
