It's a lovely evocative image Ann, good work.

As to the tricky question of identifying the lower bird, I wouldn't like to say, having seen Arctic only once (a well-watched obvious one). I do see what you mean though, and there would be no shame in asking in the ID forum.

I agree with the two Johns... take it to the ID forum. I've seen so few Redpolls, I don't know how to separate them.
