Peanut bandit!

Peanut bandit! (Certhia familiaris)

Actually sunflower hearts were on the menu this time. It seems to prefer them over peanuts as it spent quite a while on the feeder eating them rather than just grabbing one and flying off. Quite entertaining to watch as it grabbed one, shuffled to the side onto the tree and then backwards down the trunk about a foot below the feeder where it dropped the seed into it's mouth (yesterdays photo) before climbing back up for another one.

Great timing Ian, very nice pic of this beautiful "thief" :t::t:

Great shot Ian! Amazing that it's eating the sunflower hearts. I've never seen my Brown Creepers here on my feeders and I feed sunflower hearts also.
