Peeping stilt (Himantopus himantopus)

Standing on a narrow grassy causeway in the middle of the marsh I tried to keep still so as not to disturb that stilt. But I am sure it was fully aware of my presence as it kept peeping through the reeds.

LOL...Love the caption Chris!!!! These stilts are not shy but not that social either....they usually maintain a decent distance from us here!!! Fantastic habitat and behavior capture!!!!

He certainly has his eye on you. Fantastic focus & clarity you got despite the obstruction of dried reeds. Super capture; JM!! tfs.
