Perched
With no opportunity of seeing any birds at the dry water hole we decided to walk back along the road (well it's still a dirt track) from the camp site. After about 15 minutes Adrienne and I really began to flag in the heat. So bravely Peter set off back to the cabin to fetch the car for us, while we found a bit of shade to sit in.

He seemed to get back very quickly really, so off we set towards Wilpena Pound.

En route we spotted this Black Kite who flew into a tree, so we pulled up to get a better look.

I'd first seen one of these, as a quick fly-over back at Bribie Island on my first visit there with Ken, but I didn't get a picture then. Quite pleased with this one.
