Peregrine Falcon juvenile
Ian Byrnes

Peregrine Falcon juvenile

I had filmed his dad a few days ago then whilst watching the Heron hunt...i heard and saw this beauty above on a Sandy rock face. I think I must have had some grease on the lenses as there's a blurry bit above the Falcon. He sat for ages preening himself.

A very well posed study of this lovely youngster, Ian.

Thats an adult bird Ian...Juveniles have blue ceres, adults have yellow...I've monitored Peregrine nest sites (on license) for 12 years now...Top birds!!!

Thanks Mali....thought adults had longitudinal stripes and juveniles lateral. Any way thanks...i saw 2 ...one much bigger than this and very creamy coloured....i was very pleased to see them any way.

A wonderful colourful close up Ian. Three brilliant well timed captures, well done.
