Pheasant female potrait (Phasianus colchicus)

We all know how amazingly colourful the males of the species are and tend to disregard the females as brown jobs so of little interest. However I think this close up does show that they are far from being "brown Jobs" The colours are not as startling as the males but they are very colourful in thier own right albeit more subtle.
