So KC you were so right!!!!! First the Purple Finches and now Pine Siskins. I'm so pleased to have gotten another new garden bird. I know these birds are quite common but I've never in all my years birding seen one here. So what a surprise yesterday after the Northern Cardinal left that perch the next birds to settle on it were a pair of these pretty little Siskins. They were back again this morning and I'm hoping they stay around for a while.
Super shot Deanne. The Pine Siskins seem to be irrupting this year, much to our delight. One thing to see them, but quite another to capture them in such beautiful fashion. cheers, Len
Technical masterpiece. Great light comming from the left. Resolution is very good. Must have been relatively close to the bird. :t: :t: :t: :t: :t: cheers B
Thanks so much everyone, I'm so pleased you like this little Siskin.
Len, I'm really pleased that they are irrupting this year too. I had another three at the feeders and there were probably more up in the trees I didn't see but could hear. I'd read that they might stick around for a while once they find a reliable food source.
Mark, thanks much, yes this particular perch is close to my blind and is part of the set up I used the last couple years for my 100/400, I'm blown away with the shots the 500 is producing. What a great piece of glass!
