Pine siskin
Went to Milton Reimer Ranch Park near Dripping Springs, TX today to look at interesting flora and fauna and got some OK pictures of these pine sisken (the scientific name hits a funny bone, spinus pinus). Couldn't help but thinking that the park's namesake was probably a rancher, but with a name like Milton Reimer he probably should have been a poet.

Wonderful close-up frontal view of this handsome Siskin with a sharp pointy bill. Superb Ken! At least where I live the Yellow-rumps have been plentiful this year. A fair number of Goldfinches but the Siskins have been scare around here. TFS Ken!
