Pink Magpies
This picture was taken from my garden in Wakefield, West Yorkshire tonight. It is the third time they have visited and hopefully not the last. Hope you like it - any explanation would be greatly received!

Its like theve eaten red die that people feed their captive birds.

I read an article not long ago about birds in Yorkshire, England with strange pink and red coloring. Mostly the photos I saw looked like Magpies. They were pretty sure it was from them hanging about and maybe eating dust at a local company that dumped red colored dust out back. They had quite a hill of dust, I don't remember what it was from ( a quarry type thing or what) but I'd guess that is where you color came from. The article said the dust contained minerals that the birds need and were probably eating bits of it.
