An American goldfinch eyeing me from the safety on the other side of a tree. Unlike the chickadees, which almost land on me when I'm filling the feeders, the goldfinches always keep a cautious distance until I'm gone.
LOL! I've noticed this at our feeder at the cabin, that some species come flying in as soon as they hear the car, while others hide behind the trees and only pop out when everything is still again, the door to the shed where we keep the birdseed has been shut for a while, and I've been sitting still on the cabin porch with my camera resting on the railing for at least half an hour
