A cracking detailed close up Brian, many tfs mate and hope you had a good day on your birthday.
 
Nice capture Brian , a bit of -ev to avoid the blown out highlights would have made it superb .

A rather scruffy bird but a charming shot of it Brian. The lighting was not really in your favour. (I agree with Ken about the ev, maybe two thirds or a whole stop less via exposure compensation would have made this even better but judging exposure in these situations is tricky). I like the sense of movement imparted by the ripples and the single white feather wafting about is a nice touch.
