Preening hummingbird caught red-headed

Preening hummingbird caught red-headed (Calypte anna)

The iridescence around the hummingbird's head salvaged what would have otherwise been a boring butt shot into a splash of colors as she preened.

Nikon d5, 500/5.6e shot at 1/1600, f/6.3, ISO 800. Cropped down to 5.9 MP (1.9x, 950mm).
